27th December: A relaxing Christmas.

Hi readers,

All things considering my Christmas went pretty well. I spent the day with my family. Think I also eat a little too much food.

It seemed to be over within a flash. I can’t believe the countdown is officially over now. It seemed very weird not doing blogmas anymore. Now to look forward to hopefully a better new year.

December 24th: Merry Christmas and end of blogmas.

Just wanted a quick post to wish everyone a happy Christmas! Can’t believe it’s that time of year again. I’m so proud of posting on my blog every day for twenty-four days. I’ve enjoyed it, and it’s taught me a lot.

December 23rd: Things you can do on Christmas Eve.

Hi readers,

Happy Christmas Eve Eve everyone! Here are some ideas for activities you can do tomorrow.

Bake- Bake some Christmas treats such as mince pies or cookies.

Watch a Christmas film– There are so many to chose from, have a relax on a sofa with a Christmas film.

Read– Read some Christmas themed books.

Sing and Listen to Christmas Music- The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Do some Christmas craft- Colour or create something Christmasy. Papercraft or knitting are my personal favourites.

Have a walk around the local area and see lights on houses- I love seeing the Christmas lights around the Local area.

Do something charitable– Reflect on those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Wish everyone you know a Merry Christmas! This year, it’s so important to keep in touch with others.

December 20th: How I’m dealing with not getting the Christmas I planned 2020.

Hi readers,

So I don’t think many people are getting the Christmas they planned this year. It hasn’t been an easy year. Now further disruption from announcements of tier four restrictions in the UK. It’s dishearting, but here is how I’m trying to cope and stay positive for Christmas 2020.

Video calling– As I am in a long-distance relationship, I know video calls can be a saviour. It’s comfort. I’m going to try calling and video calling as much as possible.

Trying to distract myself- I’m going to do as many indoor Christmas activities as possible.

Look forwards- There will be hopefully many more Christmases and occasions I will be able to celebrate.

Take one day at a time- When life gets too much I’m always trying to tell myself just take one day at a time.

Accept it’s okay to be upset– I’m not pressuring myself to be completely happy always. Life doesn’t work that way. It’s how I react and pick myself up is the main thing.

December 19th: A quieter Christmas…

Hi readers,

I’m sure like others I will be celebrating a quieter Christmas. It will seem very strange not being in a full house, but it is the safest option considering the circumstances.

It will also be the first year in twenty one-years, where everyone won’t be in our house for boxing day.

However, I’m trying to stay as positive as I can be. This Christmas will be the one I will appreciate what I have.

December 18th: Woodland walks, I’m so clumsy (funny story)

Hi readers,

I thought it would be good to have a nice walk around the local woods; since the weather has been surprisingly nice today.

The woods were lovely and scenic. However, it quickly becomes very muddy.

I’ve always been clumsy person since being young. So it was no surprise to me when the trail got muddier, I fell straight on my bum. The only good thing is that no one see.

The mud got all over me I was completely covered. Roll on Christmas as I have asked some proper walking boots. Hopefully, no more incidents will happen again.

Walking has defiantly helped me during the lockdown. I’ve enjoyed getting out in nature and discovering new places.

Who else is really clumsy? It can’t just be me.

December 17th: Blogging and how it has helped me.

Hi readers,

Blogging has made a massive impact on my life. Blogging every day has had its difficulties but major advantages also.

Blogging has allowed structure in my life.

It’s allowed an active routine. Even though some days I don’t know what day it is, I know that I have to blog at the end of the day.

Blogging has inspired me to try different things.

Not only have I enjoyed writing, but I’ve also enjoyed being inspired by others and their blogs.

Blogging has allowed my general English to improve.

I wasn’t always the best at English at school, but blogging has allowed my spelling, grammar and language to improve.

It’s allowed me to create.

Blogging has made me feel as I have a very creative side.

I feel apart of a community.

There is a community feel within blogging. It does feel as though you are apart of peoples lives.

December 16th: My story with Crohn’s Disease.

This blog post will be quite a long one, but I thought it would be a good idea to write about my journey with Crohn’s disease. Sorry if bowel talk isn’t very Christmassy.

I will always remember going back to my last year at school. I was in my lesson, and I remember telling a friend I just didn’t feel right. I was only fifteen, but I felt tired. It was persistent, so I visited the doctors.

Later on, I had a blood test. It didn’t take long for me to get told that I was anaemic. So I was prescribed iron tablets and started taking them straight away.

However, the symptoms didn’t stop. Also, I realised I was developing new symptoms, horrible stomach pain, and diarrhoea.

After going back to the doctors, then the tests started to begin. The doctors were coming up with lot’s of causes to what I was experiencing. The first thing they thought was irritable bowel, then food intolerances and even a rumbling appendix.

I had blood tests, MRI scans and ultrasounds. But nothing, in particular, was found. During the time, I was unable to go to school, and it was taking a toll on my mental health. It felt like I was never going to know what was wrong.

It took around a year, but I finally got the answers when I had an endoscopy.

The doctor then diagnosed me with Crohn’s disease. An inflammatory bowel condition. Even though it is a lifelong condition, treatment can ease symptoms.

After being put on a medication called Azathioprine, it changed my life. At twenty-one, my symptoms are pretty mellow. I do still get a painful stomach some days, but it is much better now than how I was when it first started.
